Marketing & Communications
Together, let’s champion Play Safe 2024!

This year’s Play Safe weekend is taking place on 28 and 29 September. We’re committing to making sure everyone knows their role in safeguarding and what Play Safe is all about.

What is Play Safe?

Play Safe is a year-round campaign that champions the importance of safeguarding in football. It encourages leagues and clubs at every level of the game to play their part in making the game safe, fun, and enjoyable for everyone, everywhere, every time.

Help us make Play Safe 2024 matter.

This year, we’re asking everyone involved in football to know their role in safeguarding.

This means whether you’re a Club Welfare Officer, parent/carer, committee member, coach, referee/match official, spectator or player, you should know your responsibilities in keeping the game safe for all.

How to get your club involved

Here are three simple things you can do:

1. Spread the word

Talk to people at your club about Play Safe. Make sure members know what it is, how they can get involved, and what their individual safeguarding roles are.

On the link below, we have provided a downloadable Play Safe kick-off pack, full of useful resources for you to share online or put up around your club. It includes:

3. Get ready for the Play Safe weekend 2024

On 28/29 September, all of football will unite to celebrate our collective safeguarding effort throughout the season.

This year, we want as many leagues, clubs and people as possible showing up for the weekend to celebrate everyone knowing their role in keeping football safe.

Make sure you save the date for your club and spread the word to members. Your support makes the game safer.

The time, effort and care you put into safeguarding throughout the season is vital in making football a safe space.
