Norfolk FA Celebrates Black History Month

We will be celebrating Black History Month throughout October.

As we move into October, Norfolk FA is proud to support Black History Month, a vital opportunity to celebrate the rich contributions of Black individuals to our communities and the football landscape. In Norfolk, we believe that football is be a sport for all, regardless of background or race, and we are committed to promoting an inclusive environment in all aspects of the game.

Reclaiming Narratives

For Black History Month 2024, we embrace the theme Reclaiming Narratives. It’s time to take control of our stories, celebrate our heritage, and ensure our voices are heard. Discover how you can get involved and make a lasting impact on how Black history is told and taught.

  • Honour Our Heroes: Challenge the narratives that have often overlooked the contributions and achievements of Black individuals both in the UK and globally.
  • Embrace Our Stories: Take control of our stories, honour our heroes, and shine a light on the diverse and profound impact of Black individuals across various fields.
  • Empower and Educate: Join us in embracing, educating, and empowering one another through the stories that shape our collective identity.

In today’s world, stories are powerful tools that shape how we understand our past, present, and future. For too long, the history of Black communities has been told through lenses that often misrepresent, oversimplify, or entirely overlook the rich and diverse experiences of those who lived it. But 2024 is set to be a transformative year.
