Norfolk FA confirms new workforce structure
In a strategic move designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the support offered to grassroots football across the region, Norfolk FA announces the restructuring of its organisational framework.
Moving forward, the Football Development and Football Services departments will merge to form a new entity, the Football Delivery Department. This pivotal change aligns with the direction of both Norfolk FA’s and The FA’s new four-year grassroots football strategy, which will be released in October 2024.
A Unified Approach to Football Delivery
The creation of the Football Delivery Department represents a significant step towards streamlining the Association’s operations and this restructuring reflects a commitment to delivering a more cohesive approach to supporting the grassroots game in Norfolk.
The new Football Delivery Department will integrate the expertise and resources previously housed within the Football Development and Football Services departments.
By combining these critical functions, Norfolk FA aims to create a more efficient and agile framework capable of responding to the evolving needs of grassroots football.
Norfolk FA's new Football Delivery Department:
- Head of Football Delivery – Rachel Cossey
- Football Delivery Officer (Discipline & Behaviour) – Thomas Constance
- Football Delivery Officer (Volunteering & Coaching) – James Buhleman
- Football Delivery Officer (Referee Development & Youth Council) – Harvey Newstead
- Football Delivery Officer (Referee Appointments & Accreditation) – Ryan Starkey
- Football Delivery Officer (Disability) – Anoushka Williamson
- Football Delivery Officer (Participation) – vacant
All members of staff involved in this restructuring process were offered the option to request voluntary redundancy and the Association regrettably confirms that three people have chosen to take this option:
- Matthew Lemmon – Head of Football Services
- Anna Larkins – Football Development Officer (Women’s & Girls’ & Accreditation)
- Daniel Bird – Football Services Officer (Regulatory Services)
Sincere thanks go to Matt, Anna and Daniel for the tremendous service that they have given to Norfolk FA and when they leave the Association later this month, they will do so with best wishes for the future from all at Norfolk FA.
Matt Carpenter, CEO of Norfolk FA said: “The formation of the Football Delivery Department is an exciting development for Norfolk FA. By combining our Football Development and Football Services functions, we are positioning ourselves to deliver a more effective and responsive support system for grassroots football.
“While we are excited about the opportunities that our new department will bring, it is with a heavy heart that we announce three staff leaving the Association as part of the process. Decisions such as this are not made lightly, and this situation reflects the challenging reality of aligning our resources with the evolving demands of grassroots football. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of those affected and wish them well in their future careers.
“Our focus remains on ensuring that the restructured organisation will enhance our ability to support clubs, leagues, participants and volunteers across Norfolk, while driving forward our soon to be released four year strategy.”
Norfolk FA is committed to ensuring a smooth transition into this new structure, with a focus on maintaining high standards of service and support throughout the process.
However, as staff get to grips with their new roles and responsibilities, a period of patience and understanding is requested from customers and stakeholders.
