Stay safe

We are maintaining daily contact with all of our staff members at this time to help maintain their safety and well-being. We hope all of the #NorfolkFootball community remain safe and well during this unprecedented situation we find ourselves in.

Gavin Lemmon, Chief Executive: "There is no coming away from the fact that football isn’t the highest priority right now, however the well-being of our staff has without doubt been of significant importance for me in these recent weeks. Our dedicated workforce have been quite simply outstanding during these past few challenging weeks and have adapted to what has been an ever evolving situation, I simply cannot thank them all enough.

"As with every business, the financial impact for the Association has and will be significant. Due to the Association having such a diverse offering (such as the FDC’s) in comparison to other County FA’s across the Country, our cash flow has had an even bigger negative impact and added further difficulty in navigating our way through this period. The support that we will receive via the Government Retention Scheme provides us with some significant assistance but of course this doesn’t provide us with the sole solution.

"Personally I’ve never shirked a challenge before and I don’t intend to start now. I have every confidence that with the ongoing support that I receive from our Chairman, Michael and our Board of Directors, we will get through this period; with grassroots football playing a significant part in improving the mental and physical well-being of all ages across the County.

"We need all of grassroots football to pull together when the time is right to do so, with the aim of getting more people involved in either playing, coaching, refereeing or volunteering - and I can’t wait for the day when we are all out on the natural or synthetic grass again. Until that time comes, I hope everyone stays safe and well at all times.”
